Feeling very Enid Coleslaw from Ghost World with my new green hair. Also, now featuring my new Chloe Doc boots ! I’m so excited about them, but I never realized how heavy they’d be; after a few hours I’m dying to get them off my feet. Oh well, it’s completely worth it. Also, word of wisdom: don’t try to drive in these shoes. I was flooring it as soon as I hit the gas…bad idea.
Maybe I’ve been reading too many 90’s grunge blogs or listening to too much Die Antwoord, but I think it’s safe to assume that there will be a revival of tacky, Harley Davidson-esque flame print in the immediate future.
Just take the brand spankin’ new Nasty Gal vintage lookbook, featuring the queen of 90’s grunge herself, Niki Takesh. Those nails? Killer!
Of course this trend has been popping up on the S/S runways of Jeremy Scott, Prada, Alexander McQueen and I’m sure more. My most favorite is a bit of a flashback; from Daniel Palillo F/W 2010. I love the elegant structure combined with a usually tacky print.
However, as Jeffrey Campell‘s latest bomb, the Flame Litas prove, not all flame print works. My suggestion: moderation if you’re thinking about taking this print for a spin.
Until then… I had to.
